Ries Brothers
Hailing from St. Petersburg, Florida, The Ries Brothers (pronounced “Rees”) are brothers Charlie (29) and Kevin Jordan Ries (26), a dynamic duo blending rock, blues, funk, and reggae into a soulful, genre-defying sound. Charlie delivers soaring vocals while simultaneously playing drums and keyboard bass, while Kevin Jordan adds guitar, ukulele, melodica, and harmonies that complete their signature groove. Starting out on the Florida bar circuit as teens, their talent caught the attention of legendary band CHICAGO, leading to two regional tours and a leap into a full-time music career. Since then, they’ve shared stages with artists like G Love & Special Sauce, Stick Figure, Pepper, Galactic, Stephen Marley, 311, and Iration, while also appearing at major festivals including Okeechobee, Sunfest, Cali Roots, Gasparilla, Innings Festival, Summer Camp, Cali Vibes, Shaky Knees, Reggae Rise Up, and Hulaween.
Their creativity has thrived through collaborations with members of The Lumineers, Gary Clark Jr., and Iration, as well as special projects like the reggae remix of “Take It Back” featuring Julian Marley and Bumpin Uglies. Their 2022 self-titled EP, produced by Gary Clark Jr.’s original drummer and engineer, reached #1 on Spotify’s “Nu Blues” playlist and featured collabs with G Love & Cas Haley. They’ve toured extensively with David Shaw (The Revivalists), Big Something, Badfish, and O.A.R., and continued to build momentum in 2025 with their third appearance on the 311 Cruise, Sweetwater 420 Fest, and Sunshine Get Down. Recent singles “Coming Out Swinging” (released on SKP, 311 frontman Nick Hexum’s label), “Destination Unknown,” and “Golden Sun” (co-written with and featuring Nick Hexum) show the brothers evolving their laid-back beach vibes into a sophisticated, high-energy sound that cements The Ries Brothers as one of Florida’s most exciting rising acts.
