Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling producer Paul Michael Woolford, also known as Special Request, has spent more than two decades reshaping the landscape of dance music. From global DJ sets to countless studio productions, Woolford has brought his distinctive touch to hundreds of records, collaborating with and remixing artists such as Christine & The Queens, Gabriels, Calvin Harris, Moby, Sam Smith, Depeche Mode, The Chemical Brothers, Lana Del Rey, MK, Disclosure, and Diplo, among many others. His influence has encouraged a generation of producers to embrace bold new sounds. His music reaches far beyond clubs, appearing on radio and even fashion runways for Fendi, Givenchy, Burberry, and Marc Jacobs. Under his Special Request alias, Woolford has expanded his creative reach into experimental projects, including artwork by the late Virgil Abloh and a 2021 rework of Abloh’s debut single Delicate Wings for Sony/Columbia.

Renowned as one of electronic music’s most versatile figures, Woolford has recorded seven Essential Mixes for BBC Radio 1 and released four acclaimed compilations, most recently DJ Kicks 25, hailed by Resident Advisor as a Recommended release. His career includes long-running residencies at Space in Ibiza and Back To Basics in Leeds, along with appearances at nearly every respected club and venue around the world. Drawing inspiration from pirate radio, a lifetime of record collecting, and his art school years, Woolford continues to evolve as both DJ and producer. With his relentless touring schedule, wide-ranging collaborations, and boundary-pushing productions, he remains one of the most innovative and influential forces in contemporary dance music.
