Rechulski
Rechulski’s journey in music began behind the decks of his high school radio station, where he hosted a weekly reggae show that sparked a lifelong devotion to sound and community. By 2008, he co-founded the influential New York artist collective Sheik ‘N’ Beik, curating and DJing weekly house and techno events across the city’s lounges and clubs, while also producing underground warehouse parties in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. The collective’s vision extended internationally through monthly broadcasts on Switzerland’s pioneering internet station Basic.ch, one of the earliest platforms dedicated to alternative electronic music.
Rechulski made his recording debut in 2010 with the track “Slurpy” (with FoNG, aka Ray Rose) on Biatch Corp’s Auditoria compilation, before launching Sheik ‘N’ Beik Records in 2014. Initially vinyl-focused, the label grew into a respected imprint across both analog and digital formats, serving as a platform for boundary-pushing electronic artists. In 2015, he expanded his creative scope by founding Soundslinger, the production company behind the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival in Florida. Under his vision, OMF quickly grew into a cult-favorite destination, blending large-scale music programming with immersive art, camping, and community culture, cementing Rechulski’s reputation as a builder of experiences as much as a DJ and tastemaker.
In recent years, Rechulski has also turned his focus toward sustainability and design. In 2022, he founded Sungai Design, a Bali-based studio transforming river plastic waste into functional art and furniture. The project extends his ethos of community and creativity into environmental impact, bridging design, activism, and social enterprise.
