Selwa Abd is a Moroccan-born artist, composer, and designer based in New York City whose work pushes the boundaries of music, art, and technology. Drawing on post-colonial identity, urban fragmentation, and the impact of virtual realities, her practice employs intuition as a tool for exploring the complexities of contemporary life. Her music, which is released on labels like Optimo Music and Tresor Records, has been featured at leading institutions and festivals, including MoMA PS1, National Sawdust, Roulette, Issue Project Room, Basilica Hudson, and Moogfest, and she has collaborated across disciplines with both visual and musical artists, even remixing Depeche Mode. Recognized with awards such as the SACEM Grant (2020), Harvestworks Fellowship (2022), and Jerome Hill Artist Award (2023), Selwa has also been profiled in The Washington Post, Resident Advisor, Mixmag MENA, Artforum, and more. Beyond her own prolific output, she founded the community hub Pick Up The Flow and publishing imprint BIZAARBAZAAR, and has been an NTS Radio resident since 2018, continuing to shape global conversations at the intersection of sound, art, and culture.
